What can I do if my burned disc doesn’t play on my home DVD player?

Last Revised: 2015-10-29 21:08:12
The first step is to ensure that your video plays properly on your computer. If it doesn’t play there, then it will not play on any other DVD players.

If the burned disc plays well on the computer yet not on the DVD player, the issue may be caused by the incompatibility of the disc and the DVD player, or you may have set the wrong TV standard mode for your country. The steps below will ensure that you have everything set right before you start.

1. Before you burn a disc, make sure you have selected the proper TV standard for your country. Refer to this link to pick the right one: correct TV standard. Setting the TV standard can be found in the Burn tab on the main screen, and click More.

  2. Ensure that the blank disc you are using is supported by your DVD player. Which disc type do I need?

If the burned disc does not play on either the computer or the DVD player, it would mean that the burn was not successful and the alternative burning method below will help.

1. Click on the Burn tab on the main screen, and click on Add Files to load your source videos.

2. Under the Burn to option, you would want to select ISO Files, and then set the saving path for the ISO. When you click the Burn button you will not be directing towards a disc, however you will be creating a file.

3. When the burn has completed, you will be able to find the ISO file in the location that you set the file to be saved to.
4. If you are running Windows 7, the following link will allow you to burn the ISO to a disc using the Windows Disc Image Burner: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-hk/windows7/burn-a-cd-or-dvd-from-an-iso-file

If your system is Windows XP/Vista/Windows 8, you can download a free burner from the link below to burn the ISO to a disc.
