Why SafeEraser can compress your photos losslessly?

Last Revised: 2018-08-27 18:19:21
Photo compress is a new feature in SafeEraser. This feature is designed to release more space on your phone.

As you may know, when you take a photo with iPhone, it will take you about 2 MB space to save it.  After compressing photos with SafeEraser, you can see that the quality of the photos is not changed. It looks almost the same as the original one but occupies less space, as it can save about 75% of the original size.

Here is an example.

To compress the photo, we will scan your photo album and filter out the photo with a size larger than 1 MB.  Then use a almost lossless compression technique(JPEG) to compress the photo and freeup more space on your device.

The term "JPEG" is an acronym for the Joint Photographic Experts Group, which is the most popular format for photos on websites or apps. However, many JPEG files do not use optimal compression, wasting valuable bytes. We adjusted the method and allowed a selectable tradeoff between storage size and image quality to make the lossless compression available. It typically achieves 10:1 compression with little perceptible loss in image quality.

Tips: lossless compression is a class of data compression algorithms that allows the original data to be perfectly reconstructed from the compressed data.

Also, SafeEraser will backup the original photo to your computer. Which means you can still get the origianl photo back if needed.  You can find the original file here:
