Wondershare LiveBoot 2012 getting started

Wondershare Liveboot 2012 is a necessary utility for Windows Recovery, Data Recovery, Disk Management and Password&Key Recovery, etc.

The attraction is that it is based on WINPE micro operating system, as you can use it without booting Windows.

System requirement for installing LiveBoot 2012:


After installation of LiveBoot 2012 Wizard, start Create Bootable CD or USB to boot and get access to LiveBoot tools and repair your computer.

Recovery Center
Restore Backup Solution
If you backed up your Windows or computer using our backup tool or Microsoft backup tool, please simply restore your Windows from here.

Random Crash Solution
Your Windows crashes all of sudden. After rebooting the computer, you might be able to get into Windows occasionally. However it keeps crash randomly. You might observe blue screen or black screen, etc. The most unique symptom making this different from other solutions is that you might be able to get into Windows occasionally.


Boot Crash Solution
When you start the computer, it ALWAYS crashes with a black screen. You are NEVER able to get to the Windows loading bar. You might observe black screen with flicking cursor or following error messages.

Loading Crash Solution
When you start the computer, it ALWAYS crashes or freezes at Windows loading bar or Windows Welcome screen. You can get through the Windows loading bar, however you are NEVER able to get into your Windows. You might observe screen freezing, rebooting repeatedly, blue screen, or black screen, etc.

Data Recovery
Wondershare Data Recovery is a powerful data recovery tool, which can help you recover documents, photos, audios, videos, emails and archive files lost from all kinds of storage devices, such as hard drives, memory cards, and USB Flash drives.
After installation, start Data Recovery and follow the steps below to get your valuable data back.
Step 1: Select a recovery mode
1. Smart Recovery
Smart Recovery can automatically scan a partition to find your deleted or lost files. This type of recovery will take a long time, but it is recommended to be tried first in most cases.

2. Common Recovery
1) Deleted File Recovery: Recover deleted files from a partition or removable media, such as files deleted by Shift + Delete, or files emptied from Recycle Bin.
If you could not recover the file by Deleted File Recovery, you can try to use Lost File Recovery.

2) Lost File Recovery: If your partition is corrupted or formatted, you can use Lost File Recovery to recover lost files. This mode will recover the complete folder structure of the partition for you.
If the file system of the lost data in partition corrupted, you could not recover the lost file by Load File Recovery, and you need to use Raw Recovery.

3) Lost Partition Recovery: If you cannot see the partition where lost file located, you can use Lost Partition Recovery first to find the partition.

3. Advanced Recovery
1) Raw Recovery: If above recovery method cannot find your lost files, you can try Raw Recovery. Raw Recovery will take more time and the names of recovered files will not be original,so this way should be your final solution.

2) Resume Recovery: Import saved scan results to resume a previous recovery session.

Step 2: Choose the path

Select a partition from the drive list. Data Recovery will scan the partition for lost files.
1. Lost File Recovery, it could detect the current type of file system automatically, and you could choose the previous type of file system manually. Supported File Systems: FAT16、FAT32、exFAT、NTFS
2. Raw Recovery, you could choose the file category and file format to scan. Data Recovery can recover six categories of files (Document, Audio, Video, Photo, Archive and Email).

Step 3: Scan the Partition for the lost files
After selecting the path and filter options, click Scan button, and Data Recovery starts scanning the Partition for the lost files. During scanning, you can select a folder on the directory tree, and then click a file in lower right corner of the column list to preview.

Note: If you select a large Partition, it will take a long time to scan.
You can click Pause during scanning. After click Pause button, you could preview and recover the scanned files, and the Pause button displays as Continue, you could click Continue button to continue scanning.

After click Pause button, the program will not provide filter option. You can click Stop during the scan, but the lost files may not be found.

Step 4: Preview or Filtrate the found files
If Data Recovery scans the Partition in Deleted File Recovery mode or Lost File Recovery mode, in the left directory tree, you can see all the found files classified in the directories where the lost files were.

If Data Recovery scans the drive in Raw Recovery mode, the found files are classified by format. Select a directory or a format, and the found files are listed in the Preview list on the right. To preview files, you can click the file to preview in the Preview window.

Disk Management
Clone Genius
Clone Genius can clone/mirror entire partition/disk including Windows, programs, files and personal settings to another partition or a new disk with just a few clicks. You can use it for Replacing old disk or Upgrading to a larger disk. It includes two functions:

Clone Entire Disk
Clone entire disk for replacing old disk or upgrading to a larger disk.

The most useful of this function is to replace your old disk or upgrade to a larger disk. It clones/mirrors entire disk including Windows, programs, files and personal settings to a new disk with just a few clicks.
Note:Clone your whole disk from one disk to another, which means backup all files from a source disk to a destination disk.This option will erase ALL the data on your destination disk, please backup your important data first.


Note: To perform Clone Entire Disk, the following THREE requirements should be met:
• Your computer must have no less than TWO disks.
• The source disk must have at least one partition.
• The capacity of destination disk is equal to or larger than the source disk.

Clone One Partition
Clone your data from one partition to another, which means backing up all the files from a source partition to a destination partition.

Note: This option will erase ALL the data on your destination partition, please backup your important data first.

Partition Genius

Our hard disk stores many different kinds of data. It is necessary to manage them effectively. Our program can divide hard disk into many partitions for different use. Manage different data on independent partition can effectively prevent virus attacks and speed your computer. You can resize/split/merge partitions including system partition with it under WINPE. It is the best partition utility.

Wondershare Partition Genius is a disk management tool, with which you can resize, create, copy, delete and recover partitions. Follow the instructions to reasonably re-structure your harddisk.

Wondershare Partition Genius starts in Expert Mode by default, and you can perform all tasks in the main window, or you can click the Wizard Mode button on the Toolbar to switch to WizardMode.

The main user interface is as below.


Creating Partitions
To create a new partition, you need some unallocated space.
1. Select the unallocated space in the Partition list or on the Partition map, and click the Create button on the Toolbar.
2. In the Create Partition dialog box, enter a value of the size for the new partition and click "Next".
3. On the dialog box, enter a file system, partition label, drive letter, partition type and cluster size.
4. Click Create to close the dialogue box, and the creating partition task is added on the Operation list.
5. Click the Apply button on the Toolbar to perform the operation.
You can see a new partition on the Partition list.

Formatting Partitions
1. Select the partition which you want to format from the Partition list.
2. Click the Format button on the Toolbar.
3. In the Format Partition dialog box, enter the file system, volume label, and cluster size for the partition.
4. Click Format to close the dialog box, and the formatting partition task is added on the Operation list.
5. Click the Apply button on the Toolbar to perform the operation.

Deleting Partitions
1. Select the partition which you want to delete from the Partition list.
2. Click the Delete button on the Toolbar.
3. In the Delete Partition dialog box, select whether to shred files on the partition.
If you select Do not shred files, the data on the partition can be recovered. If you select to shred files, we recommend you select the Primary mode or Medium mode. The Advanced mode will overwrite the partition for 35 times and it may do harm to the disk.
Important: Files cannot be recovered after shredded.
4. Click Delete to close the dialog box. The deleting partition task is added on the Operation list.
5. Click the Apply button on the Toolbar to perform the operation.

Recovering Partitions
Click the Recover button on the Toolbar, and follow the instructions on the pop-up dialog box to find the deleted partition back.

Copying Partitions
You can copy an existing partition to unallocated space, and the unallocated space will become a duplication of the partition.
1. Select the partition which you want to copy from the Partition list. The program will check the partition.
2. Select the unallocated space, and click "Next".
3. In the dialog box, enter the volume, drive letter and file type for the duplication.
4. Click Copy, and the copying partition task are added on the Operation list.
5. Click the Apply button on the Toolbar to perform the operation.
Important: The unallocated space should be equal to or larger than the source partition.

Exploring Partitions
Select a partition from the Partition list, and click Explore under Operation on the Operation panel. You can browse the content of the partition in the pop-up browser.

Changing Drive Letter
Select a partition from the Partition list, and click Change Drive Letter under Operation on the Operation panel. In the dialog box, select a letter for the partition, and click Change.

Changing Partition Label
Select a partition from the Partition list, and click Change Label under Operation on the Operation panel. In the dialog box, enter the new label for the partition, and click Change.

Checking Partitions
Select a partition from the Partition list, and click Checking Partition under Operation on the Operation panel.

Hiding or showing Partitions
To hide a partition, select the partition and click Hide under Operation on the Operation panel. After the operation is applied, the partition is invisible on My Computer.
To show a hidden partition, select the partition and click Unhide under Operation on the Operation panel. After the operation is applied, the hidden partition is shown on My Computer.

Converting Partitions
Partition Genius can convert FAT16 and FAT32 file system to NTFS.
Right-click a FAT partition, and then select Advanced > Convert on the shortcut menu.

Setting Active Partitions
Right-click a partition, and select Advanced > Set Active on the shortcut menu.

Disk Management
Partition Genius can manage the whole disk, click the disk on the Disk list and you can delete all partitions on the disk at a time or copy a whole disk to another.
Wipe Data
It supports mostly external devices in common use, you can not only wipe data of the local disk, but also the removable disk, USB flash disk without any other third-party's technical support, as long as your computer hardware supports these external devices.

Note: Please do not use this utility until you want to permanently delete your data for some special reasons such as reselling or donating your computer.

Data Backup/Restore
Data corrupts may happen at anytime. Frequently backup your data can prevent disaster from happening. Backup specified file/folder is to monitor your important data. For periodic data maintenance, you can backup Entire partition. For fear of hard disk corrupt, please backup the whole hard disk. These backups are used for future restore.

Partition Backup/Restore
You can backup entire partition for period maintenance. It will save the partition to image file(s). You can save the image file(s) to another partition in the same disk or in the external hard disk. Our program can compress the image file(s) for saving storage space. The proper compression level will take balance between time and storage space.

Disk Backup/Restore
You can backup Whole hard disk incase of hard disk corrupt, it will save the disk to image file(s). You have to save the image file(s) to another external hard disk. Our program can compress the image file(s) for saving storage space. The proper compression level will take balance between time and storage space.

Password&Key Finder
Admin Password Resetter
You can't login Windows without password. Our program can reset the privilege administrator's or ordinary user's password. It works on Windows 2000, Windows XP 32/64bit, Windows server 2003 32/64bit, Windows vista 32/64bit, Windows 7 32/64bit, Windows server 2008/R2 64bit, etc.

Windows Key Finder
Many reasons cause Windows boot failure. Windows reinstallation is the last effective solution for fixing many Windows problems. You must enter the product key when reinstall Windows. Our program can find the MS product ID and product key for Windows reinstallation in the future. Our program can find out all the Windows installed on your hard disk. It will list the found Product Name, Product ID and Product Key in following table. Note: You can adjust every column's width by moving your mouse to the border of any two columns and dragging the mouse leftward or rightward while pressing the left button.

Office Key Finder
Office Key is required for reinstalling your Microsoft Office. It is very difficult to find the Office key in the windows registry when you have lost it. Our Office Key Finder can help you find it at once. It can find out all the Office installed on your hard disk and list the found Product Name, Product ID and Product Key in following table. It supports all Microsoft Office including Office 97, Office 2000, Office XP, Office 2003, Office 2007 and Office 2010.
