What to do when the file size exceeds DVD capacity?

If the video you want to burn to a DVD exceeds the disc's maximum capacity, you will see an error message. Here are two solutions to resolve this issue:

Solution 1: Adjust Video Quality

  1. On the DVD output screen, change the Video Quality setting to "Mid" or "High" and try exporting again.

    • If the higher quality still exceeds the disc capacity, switch to the "Recommend" setting.

  2. After adjusting the video quality:

    • Click on the Local or Device tab in the export settings.

    • Then, return to the DVD tab to ensure the file size is updated based on the new quality setting.

Solution 2: Use a D9 DVD Disc

If adjusting the video quality doesn’t solve the problem, we recommend using a D9 DVD disc (single-sided, dual-layer).

  • A D9 DVD has twice the capacity of a standard D5 DVD, allowing you to burn larger video files.
