SSDs differ from traditional hard disk drives (HDDs) in their storage mechanism. When files are deleted, the system may notify the SSD via the TRIM command that these data blocks are no longer in use. The SSD may then perform garbage collection, data cleanup, or defragmentation in the background. Once the original data blocks are cleared or rewritten, new software will have difficulty reading the complete original file.
Therefore, the success rate of data recovery after accidental deletion or formatting on an SSD is usually affected by factors such as the time of deletion, whether the computer continues to be used, whether TRIM has taken effect, and whether new data has been written. If data loss is discovered, it is recommended to immediately stop using the SSD, do not continue downloading, installing, copying, or saving files, and use Wondershare Recoverit as soon as possible to scan and check if it can still be previewed and recovered.
