Create a Thumbnail From a Moment in the Video
Thumbnails in Filmora for Mobile can be picked and edited in the app's Work Area, meaning you'll first have to create a project or open an existing one. You can do that by following the short guide below:
1. Locate the Quick Access panel on Filmora's startup screen and tap the New Project button. Alternatively, hit the blue Plus icon in the Menu bar at the bottom.

2. Pick a video file from your phone's gallery or choose something from the Stock tab. Then, hit Import.

Note: You can also edit the thumbnail of an existing video project. To do that, open the video from the Project Management panel on the startup screen.

3. Once inside Filmora's Work Area, tap the Cover icon to the left of the clip in the Timeline.

4. Drag the video and select a moment from it to use as the project's thumbnail.

5. If you're satisfied with the thumbnail, tap the Checkmark button in the top right corner.
Add a Custom Thumbnail From Other Content
Your video's thumbnail doesn't necessarily have to be a moment from the clip itself. You can also create a different thumbnail by picking another image or video from the device's gallery or using stock media available in Filmora for Mobile. Here's how:
1. In the thumbnail editing menu, tap the Album button.

2. Pick a different media file from the gallery or the Stock media tab by tapping on it and pressing Import.

3. Crop the thumbnail to adjust it to your liking and needs, and hit Confirm.

4. Once the thumbnail has been added, hit the Checkmark button in the top right corner to apply it to the video.
