This usually comes from a stuck Play Store download, low storage, an unstable network, or corrupted Play Store/Play services cache—not from Filmora itself. Try the steps below in order.
1. Make sure your phone has enough free storage and a stable connection. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data if needed, and turn off VPN if you are using one.
2. Open Google Play Store > your profile > Manage apps & device, cancel any pending or stuck Filmora download, then search for Filmora and tap Update again.
3. Force-stop Play Store: phone Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Force stop. Reopen Play Store and retry the update.
4. Clear Play Store cache: phone Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Storage > Clear cache. If it still fails, tap Clear data, sign back in to Google Play, and try updating Filmora again.
5. Clear Google Play services cache: phone Settings > Apps > Google Play services > Storage > Clear cache.
6. Restart your phone, then search for Filmora in Google Play and update again. Confirm your system date and time are set to automatic, and that the device meets Filmora's requirement (Android 7.0 or later).
7. If the update still fails, back up any important local drafts first, then uninstall Filmora and reinstall the latest version from Google Play. Cloud-synced projects can be recovered after you sign in again; unsynced local drafts may be lost.
