Step 1: Tap the blue Screen Time card or the Screen Time feature in the control center to enter the Screen Time settings page.
Step 2: Select the rule type you want to set - Downtime or Screen Time Limit. Downtime restricts phone usage during specific periods, ideal for when children are sleeping or studying. Screen Time Limit sets the total daily usage time allowed, helping prevent excessive screen engagement.
If you wish to set Downtime, proceed to Step 3; if you intend to set Screen Time Limit, skip directly to Step 4:

Step 3: For Downtime, first enter or select a name for the Downtime period. Then set a time range to apply the schedule at specific times (select start and end times). You can choose to use the same Downtime schedule daily or customize schedules for different time periods on different days.

Step 4: For Screen Time Limit, once the switch is turned on, you can set a daily usage limit for your child's screen time. You can choose to use the same time limit every day or customize time limits for different days.

Step 5: When your child reaches the time limit or Downtime, apps on their device will be overlaid with a screen (as shown below), reminding them it's time to put down their phone. Of course, they can also send a request via the button at the bottom of the overlay. You will receive a notification and can handle requests from your child in the notifications section.

Step 6: Note that Allowed Apps are not subject to any restrictions. However, time spent on Allowed Apps counts toward the total available Screen Time Limit.
Step 7: Finally, you can view the time rules set for your child in the Schedule section of the dashboard. The Schedule entry will also appear on your child's app homepage, making it convenient for you and your child to establish healthy phone usage habits together.

Step 7: Tap the +/- time icon on the blue Screen Time card. A pop-up will appear to increase or decrease the device usage time, allowing you to adjust the target device's usage duration.
